Sorry about all the hamsters

I just had a web demo with a company that I am thinking of contracting for services. The demo was the type where you connect via a web portal and their technical staff can run you through their system by showing you their desktop. When the technician got on the phone with me and superimposed his desktop onto mine he closed a few windows to clean up his menu bar. For about five seconds or so, his email was up with a message open in the inbox. It contained a single line in large text.

Sorry about all the hamsters.

I didn't ask him about it, but don't think my mind wasn't wandering during his presentation, coming up with colorful scenarios after which one might receive such an email.

That's hilarious. Kind of like "So long, and thanks for all the fish" but weirder.

What a riot. Leaving the nature of this company out of the story allows us to use our imaginations...uh oh.

Well at least it didn't say "Sorry about all the hamsters, I'll cover the hospital bill." or something like, "Your car's trunk is so spacious, who knew we could fit so many bodies back there."

    HA!

LOL! Thanks for that. Ink- that's exactly what I thought when I saw this. Genomic Repairman, you are terrible and hilarious.

Hahaha! In grad school, my advisor was giving a seminar using a Powerpoint file that he had saved onto the network. Because he had logged into the network to access the file, his email notifications were popping up on the screen during his talk without his knowledge. It wasn't a big deal until one appeared that said "Thanks for last night, Big Boy!" It was hilarious yet sickening all at the same time.

Are the hamsters normally better behaved, but today someone snuck some methamphetamine into their water bottle? Was the person only expecting one hamster, and was subsequently surprised by the plethora of hamsters? It's really unfortunate you couldn't acquire this information.

I think the speculation is far more fun than the real answer, which was undoubtedly less interesting.
